Cleaning Up My Blogroll

My blog will be four years old this July! I can’t believe I was four years younger when I subscribed to my first web hosting account and started buying my own domains. I have met a lot of blog friends ever since I started blogging. I checked my blog roll today to find out how many of these blogs still exists. Sadly, some of them are not there anymore. So, I decided to remove these links. Just in case you did not notice, I changed my blog theme!

Thanks For The Flat Screen TV!

My younger brother gave us a flat screen tv last December. We were so excited to watch our favorite shows on the new tv. I don’t remember the last time my family received something that expensive for a Christmas gift. It took us hours to decide where we should place the television in the house. So, everyone can use the tv, it was placed in the living room. We just have to get a wall mount to put the television in place. Our viewing experience has never been this great!

Gifts for Birthdays

Next month, I have a couple of friends who will be celebrating their birthdays! I still don’t have any idea what gifts will I give them this year. Of course, I want to give something that’s well-thought-of and not just a generic gift that I seem to have chosen at the last minute. I think gifts for birthdays will be more appreciated if they are personalized or if they are something that you know the person really wants to have.

Wikipedia Blackout Day

Wikipedia is protesting against SOPA and PIPA by blacking out the English Wikipedia for 24 hours, beginning at midnight January 18, Eastern Time. Readers who come to English Wikipedia during the blackout will not be able to read the encyclopedia. Instead, you will see messages intended to raise awareness about SOPA and PIPA, encouraging you to share your views with your representatives, and with each other on social media.

How does it feel without Wikipedia?

So, I was searching something online today. One of the first few results showed a Wikipedia page, so I automatically clicked on it. I forgot that it’s ‘Wikipedia blackout day’ today. I guess most of us are used to going to Wikipedia pages when we need general information. Wiki is such a big help when it comes to this. So, NO to SOPA and PIPA!

Meditate

When I was in college, I attended a yoga class for a semester. It was a fulfilling learning experience. We were taught yoga and meditation. During those times, my mind and body feels really great!

After taking that class, I was no longer able to practice yoga. Blame it on my poor time management skills. I felt like I was too busy with other things. But I want to my mind and body to feel rejuvenated again. I can practice yoga and meditation at home, I just nee to allot time for these activities. I will start by getting my own meditation chair. I will let you guys know my progress!

Flowers For Mom

This Christmas, aside from a wonderful gift for my mother, I want to send her a bouquet of tulips and orchids. Those two are her favorite flowers. She has different species of orchids in our yard. Those are her babies. She even talks to them!

I do not remember the last time my dad gave flowers to my mom. I do not think she would be expecting any flower delivery. That would be a sweet surprise!

Essential Retail System

It has always been my dream to have my own business. For sure I am not the only one whose goal is to be their own boss. When I go shopping, I also observe how the business is being handles inside the retail store. What equipment do they have in the store that makes the transaction more efficient. What Retail POS System do they use? How do they deal with the customers? I have business ideas in my mind but I haven’t seriously looked into the feasibility of these ideas. Probably next year, I will seriously consider one of the ideas that I have. If I have a budget, then I’d go for it!

Electric Bass

I have always been interested in learning to play musical instruments. I know I am not gifted with a talented voice. That’s why I want to focus on playing instruments such as electric bass. Learning how to play a Fender Precision Bass has always been a dream for me. When I get the chance, I want to enroll in a class that would teach me how to play different musical instruments. I will be making a list of things that I want for 2012. Hopefully, next year, I’d be able to do everything that is on my list.

Unlucky

There were series of unfortunate things that happened to me the past weeks. I am hoping that things will eventually get better. Some have it worse so I don’t really have the right to complain. I am trying my best to do something about the situation. But sometimes, I can’t help but get depressed about things. I should have been so happy these days but because I trusted some people too much, I had to deal with the consequences.

I learned my lesson. I guess there’s no use of worrying about things we can’t change. I’ll update you when I get everything sorted out.
