Music Monday: My Sharona (The Knack )

Today, Doug Fieger, the lead singer of  The Knack, passed away due to  lung cancer. He is the voice behind the classic rock single, My Sharona. This hit was at number one on the Billboard chart for 6 weeks  in 1979.

Don’t you know that Sharona really exists. She’s the girl that Doug fell in love with when he was 26. Sharona Alperin was only 17 when the song conquered the Billboard charts. She now works as a real estate agent.

R.I.P. Doug Fieger.
