Turquoise: December Birthstone

“If cold December gave you birth
The month of snow and ice and mirth
Place on your hand a turquoise blue
Success will bless whate’er you do.”

It’s the start of December. What comes to my mind when I think of December? Christmas, vacation, gifts, my son’s birthday. Speaking of December birthdays, the birthstone of people born on this month is Turquoise. He’s still a toddler so I don’t think I can give him anything with gemstones. For those who are thinking of giving their loved ones who are December-born a special gift, why not give them something that has a turquoise stone?

Gemstones are said to have healing effects. Turquoise can be used to help one learn spiritual lessons through meditation and/or dream visions.
