title pic On Skin Care: Are Very Expensive Skin Care Products Worth The Price?

Posted by pink on October 17, 2008

A lot of women splurge thousands of dollars on face creams and moisturizers. Would buying high end skin care products from Lancome, Estee Lauder or Chanel guarantee a flawless complexion? What if you are on a limited budget? Personally, I think women don’t have to spend a fortune to achieve a great skin. When buying expensive brands, it’s not only the product itself that you pay for. Don’t you notice that these high end skin care products invest a lot on advertising and enticing packaging? They have the top paying celebrities to promote them too. I am not saying that you don’t buy them, but read this first before you purchase your next skin care line of an expensive brand.

Beautiful skin comes from within. Instead of looking for the latest miracle cream, why don’t you examine your diet and health habits? Fruits and vegetables are good for overall healthy skin. Most of us know the right food to eat but we are just too stubborn to stick to the right diet.

If you really want to achieve a young glowing skin, you should avoid white flour foods, processed foods, alcohol and smoking as well. If you are a “rice” person, a better alternative to white rice is brown rice, which is as an excellent source of manganese. It also contains minerals such selenium and magnesium.

Exercise your way to a healthy skin. Exercise can greatly improve your skin’s appearance and make you look younger. Naturally, we sweat when we do those work out routines. Hence, those built up toxins in our skin are eliminated.

Another tip for a glowing skin is to drink lots of water. It is recommended to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Water flushes out the toxins from our body.

Skin Care Regimen

Follow a skin care regimen that works for you. The first step is knowing your skin type so that you would know the proper way to care for it. Don’t know your skin type? Take this quiz. An important part of the skin care regimen is to exfoliate regularly (but do not overdo it). Exfoliation brings out a smoother skin texture and a natural glow.

Sunscreen

But it’s really your choice if you would go for an expensive one such as Creme de la Mer or be contented with a cheaper brand such as Olay. However, you should commit to wearing sunscreen on a regular basis. Your money would go to waste on those creams if you do not protect your skin from the damaging effects of the ultraviolet radiation. The minimum SPF recommended for outdoor sun exposure is 15.
