Miss Venezuela is Miss Universe 2008

Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela is the newly crowned Miss Universe. The annual pageant held this year at the Crown Convention Center at Nha Trang, Vietnam is a witness to the coronation of the 22-year old, 5-foot 10-inch, green-eyed beauty. She’s the fifth Venezuelan to bag the prestigious title.

Miss Universe 2008Out of the 80 contenders, only the following girls were able to make it to the final 10: Miss USA, Miss Kosovo, Miss Australia, Miss Spain, Miss Mexico, Miss Colombia, Miss USA, Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Russia, Miss Italy and Miss Venezuela.

When it was narrowed down to the final five, Miss Mexico, Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Colombia, Miss Russia and Miss Venezuela were included.
